Job Description:

About us

We're a consumer AI studio that knows how to build products people love.

Our first product revolutionized the AI companion space, scaling to 6 million+ users and earning recognition from TechCrunch as "the future" in 2023. We were the first AI companion to perform system tasks, read screens, and play games with users — pioneering multi-lingual, multi-modal AI agents that could see, hear, talk, and exist across devices and even AR/VR.

But here's what we learned: even with millions of users and groundbreaking tech, distribution remains the hardest problem.

We built HeyOz because we've lived through the pain of being builders who had to become marketers. Now we're using that experience to solve distribution for every builder out there. HeyOz is an AI-powered ads creation platform where users can create static ads, AI UGC, carousels, long-form b-roll videos, and more.

The Role

The Marketing Engineer is going to build the agents, automations, and systems that run the marketing. Part-builder, part-strategist, part-operator.

You'll be our first marketing engineer hire, working directly with the founder on growth experiments, partnerships, ops chaos, and whatever needs solving that week. And because HeyOz exists to solve distribution with AI, you'll dogfood the future we're building , every agent you ship to market HeyOz is a template for what our users will build too.

What you'll do

  • Run the full-funnel marketing stack: organic social, paid (Meta, TikTok, Google, Reddit), SEO/GEO, influencer and affiliate partnerships, lifecycle, PR.
  • Build the agents and automations that run it — competitor tracking, media monitoring, creative generation pipelines, affiliate ops, content repurposing, journalist outreach, webinar-to-article pipelines, anything that would otherwise need a headcount.
  • Own growth experiments end-to-end: brief, build, launch, measure, kill or scale.
  • Turn every winning experiment into a system so it runs without you the next time.

Who we're looking for

  • You've made money on the internet. Dropshipping, freelancing, affiliates, a faceless channel, a Gumroad, a niche newsletter, whatever, you've turned attention into revenue without a team, a brand, or a budget. This is non-negotiable.
  • You're fluent across marketing verticals. We shouldn't need to explain the difference between a UGC hook and a static hook, between SEO and GEO, between affiliate and influencer economics, between a cold email sequence and a warm lifecycle flow.
  • You're technically sound. You can stand up an n8n/Make/Zapier workflow, hit an API, write a Python script, scrape a site, and orchestrate agents with Claude or GPT, without waiting on an engineer. You don't need to be a 10x backend dev. You do need to ship.
  • You thrive in 0→1 chaos. No playbooks, no pre-built stack, no one holding your hand.
  • Fresh or experienced doesn't matter. Portfolio does. Send us the thing you've built, the channel you've grown, the Gumroad you've sold, the automation you've shipped, the account you've scaled.

The test task

Design a UGC campaign for HeyOz to hit <$1 CPM across channels. Include budget, timeline, and execution speed. And because this is a Marketing Engineer role — show us one agent or automation you'd build to run or scale the campaign (brief, architecture, tools, what it replaces). Show us how you think.
