GTM operating engineer

  • Full-Time
  • Remote

Job Description:

We're a consumer AI studio that knows how to build products people love.

Our first product revolutionized the AI companion space, scaling to 6 million+ users and earning recognition from TechCrunch as "the future" in 2023. We were the first AI companion to perform system tasks, read screens, and play games with users — pioneering multi-lingual, multi-modal AI agents that could see, hear, talk, and exist across devices and even AR/VR.

But here's what we learned: even with millions of users and groundbreaking tech, distribution remains the hardest problem.

We built HeyOz because we've lived through the pain of being builders who had to become marketers. Now we're using that experience to solve distribution for every builder out there. HeyOz is an AI-powered ads creation platform where users can create static ads, AI UGC, carousels, long-form b-roll videos, and more.

The Role

We're looking for a GTM Operator who is first a builder — someone who has automated things that shouldn't be manual, written email pipelines, and thinks in systems. You understand AI tooling deeply, and you're going to use that to build our outbound engine.

You'll own outbound end-to-end: lead sourcing, CRM setup, cold outreach, and AI-powered personalization at scale. This is a zero-to-one role — you'll be responsible for building the system.

What you'll do:

  • Design and run multi-channel cold outreach across email, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X — with AI-assisted personalization baked in from the start.
  • Build and manage our CRM from scratch (Apollo, HubSpot, or equivalent) — lead tracking, sequencing, tagging, and reporting.
  • Research and segment leads across our ICPs: founders, growth marketers, freelancers, and agencies.
  • Build automated nurturing workflows that move leads from cold to conversion
  • Use AI calling or voice agents (e.g. VAPI or similar) to automate outbound conversations where applicable.
  • Leverage ad intelligence signals (e.g. Meta Ads Library) to identify and prioritize high-fit prospects at scale.
  • Build data pipelines to enrich leads with signals from LinkedIn, ad libraries, and other sources — at scale.

What we're looking for:

You've built automation pipelines before — whether for outreach, data ingestion, or workflow orchestration. You write code or use no-code tools fluently.

You've worked with LLMs in production — prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, or LLM-based workflows that generate real output.

You've set up outbound systems from scratch, ideally including CRM configuration, sequencing logic, and lead enrichment.

You're comfortable with the outbound stack: Apollo, Smartlead, Clay, Hunter, or equivalents. You know when to use each and how to chain them.

Your writing shows you understand how to personalize at scale using signals.

You are self-directed. You'll define your own workflow, set your own targets, and be accountable for results.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building AI calling agents or voice-based outbound automation (VAPI, Bland, Retell, etc.).
  • Background in AI ads tooling — you've worked on or with platforms that generate or automate ad creative.
  • You've built data pipelines that extract signals from ad libraries, LinkedIn, or similar sources at scale.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, semantic search, or embedding-based lead scoring.
  • You've worked across the stack: FastAPI, Python, Node — and can build lightweight internal tools when needed.
  • Experience targeting founders, marketers, or growth teams at SaaS, DTC, or creator-economy companies.

Details:

  • Remote, global
  • Full-time, part-time, or contract — flexible
  • Competitive cash compensation

Test Task:

Go to the Meta Ads Library. Find one real potential customer for HeyOz that fits our ICP (e.g., a mid-sized SaaS or DTC brand).

  1. Take a screenshot of their active ad. Briefly explain why they are a good target based on their current creative (e.g., 'They are scaling static images but have zero video assets').
  2. Draft the first cold email (or LinkedIn message) to their Head of Growth referencing this specific visual insight.
  3. Explain how you would automate this. If you wanted to find the contact data of 500 companies with this exact problem (eg. running ads but no video), what tools or data providers would you use to filter for that signal? Be specific about the tech stack.
