Job Description:

Account Executive / Sales Lead

Company: HeyOz
Location: Remote (Global)
Type: Full-time or Contract

About HeyOz

We're a consumer AI studio that knows how to build products people love.

Our first product revolutionized the AI companion space, scaling to 6 million+ users and earning recognition from TechCrunch as "the future" in 2023. We were the first AI companion to perform system tasks, read screens, and play games with users — pioneering multi-lingual, multi-modal AI agents that could see, hear, talk, and exist across devices and even AR/VR.

But here's what we learned: even with millions of users and groundbreaking tech, distribution remains the hardest problem.

We built HeyOz because we've lived through the pain of being builders who had to become marketers. Now we're using that experience to solve distribution for every builder out there. HeyOz is an AI-powered ads creation platform where users can create static ads, AI UGC, carousels, long-form b-roll videos, and more.

The Role

We're looking for someone to lead sales and become our GTM lead over time.

Your main goal is simple: get us clients. We have two models — a self-serve platform where users create ads themselves, and an in-house agency model where we handle ad creation for clients. You'll be selling both, depending on what fits the prospect.

This isn't a pure execution role. You'll run demos and close deals yourself, but you'll also shape how we go to market — who we target, what the pitch looks like, and how we turn interest into revenue.

What you'll own:

  • Running demos and closing deals — You're on calls with founders, marketers, and agency owners. You understand their problems and can position HeyOz as the solution — whether that's self-serve access or done-for-you work through our agency.
  • Sales strategy — You'll work closely with our outbound team, guiding who we target and ensuring we're going after the right prospects. You won't be doing the manual prospecting, but you'll be overseeing it.
  • Flexible deal structures — We offer project-based work, retainers, and self-serve subscriptions. You'll need to scope what fits each client and structure deals accordingly.
  • Building the function — If we scale to the point where we need a sales team, you'll be the one building it. For now, this is a player-coach role — mostly playing.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience closing clients in our ICP. You've sold to marketing agencies, D2C founders, freelancers, or similar. You know how these buyers think and what they care about.
  • Full-cycle sales ability. You can run a demo, handle objections, negotiate, and close — not just one part of the funnel.
  • Strategic thinking. You're not just executing a playbook someone else wrote. You can look at a market, figure out where the opportunities are, and adjust the approach.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. Pricing is flexible. Deal structures are flexible. You'll need to figure out what works for each client rather than following a rigid script.
  • Strong communicator. You can explain a product clearly, build rapport quickly, and make people feel like you understand their problem.
  • Self-motivated. This is a performance-focused role. We care about results, not hours logged. You'll have autonomy — and accountability.

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling SaaS, creative tools, or marketing/advertising products
  • You've sold both product and services (not just one or the other)
  • Early-stage startup experience — you've built a sales motion before, not just inherited one
  • Familiarity with the creator economy, indie hackers, or D2C landscape

Compensation

Competitive base + performance-based compensation. Structure will be discussed based on experience and engagement type.

How to Apply

Send us:

  1. A brief intro — who you are and why this role interests you
  2. A quick overview of your sales experience — who you've sold to, what you've sold, and what results you've driven
  3. Optionally: anything else that shows you know how to close

Keep it concise. We read everything.
